Applications

Ground Retention

Demand for the use of city space has never been greater and deep basement construction is one area where Keller’s efficient systems are commonly employed. Where there is insufficient room for piles Soilcrete Jet Grouting can provide an underpinning system which is flush with the edge of the foundation being supported. Where deep basements are required in sites with high groundwater levels a combination of contiguous Piles and Jet Grouting can be used to provide structural capacity and groundwater cut-off. The advantage of the system is its lower risk in forming the necessary seal between piles at deep levels.

Retaining walls often require the restraint to limit their deflection, Keller provides high capacity Soil and Rock Anchors.

Wet Soil Mixing can be used in combination with steel sections to provide vertical retention, again with or without the assistance of ground anchors.

In locations with difficult access Micro-piles (<300mm diameter) can be used to form retaining walls.

When cutting in to a site Soil Nails provide an efficient and safe way to retain the slope as the ground is lowered and can be combined with aesthetically pleasing facings. Keller provides design and construct service for the installation of soil nailed slopes.
